July 25 - August 22, 2014

In the past, I've led small groups of hardy Southern Arizona Hiking Club backpackers on week-long trips to California's Sierra Nevada. This trip is entirely different.

In 2014, I intend on hiking the entire length of the 212-mile-long John Muir Trail. Winding through three national parks, two wilderness areas, and a national monument, the JMT is one of the premier hiking trails in the country. We'll start in Yosemite Valley and hike south through mountain meadows, up and over nine High Sierra passes to our highpoint on the summit of Mount Whitney, and finish at Whitney Portal. This three or four week trip is the culmination of many, many months of thought, planning, and training. If you think you're up for it, please consider joining me for this spectacular trip.

Provided I'm able to acquire a permit for two, I'll be looking for a second person to accompany me. Let me know if you're interested. SAHC Members, personal friends, and close acquaintances always have priority.
